If you still like him after reading spoilers I guess that's okay since you didn't read the entire novel yet. It had a different feeling for me also. I didn't hate Eclise so much after hearing spoilers but when I read the entire novel, my world flipped upside down ahaha. But if you ever read the novel and you still don't change your feelings, then I salute you

I like my fictional men crazy, but in all honestly I do like the crown prince for the MC, but I also like eclis too, 50/50. I mean its ok to like mentally unstable, morally ambiguous etc fictional characters as long as that just stays in fiction.

That's just the start. He starts following Yvonnes orders and stuff because he believes that if he follows what Yvonne says, he can get penelope. He even betrayed his fellow countrymen just to getPenelope because he starts to go CRAZY.

He tried to kill the crown Prince with flying arrows and monsters he fed himself, TRIED to Kidnap Penelope 2 freaking times. He believed that if he killed the prince and take the Empire, he could also take Penelope. But Penelope told him that " I don't love you, I love someone else(aka prince)". He starts saying " If I can't have your love, I will have your body". Then he goes crazy and start a rebellion against the Empire with his fellow slaves. Kidnapped penelope AGAIN while saying that. " I'll fucking kill everyone for you".And helped cut off the Emperor's HEAD. After starting a rebellion he then he starts having a battle with Prince and he ALMOST killed the prince but Penelope be like the princess who saves the day.

Basically, he's the trigger to all the bullshit Penelope faced and the reason why Penelope faced a lot of hardship. Honestly while reading the novel I thought I'd go crazy too. I'm glad Prince Castillo is also there cuz he brings good vibes to the whole dark novel

.i know during his first moments of betrayal, you'll pity him at first. Like blaming Penelope because she's the one who caused him to act like that and all. Because she never had affection fpr him etc etc. However, as the story progresses, the more Eclise does weird and creepy bullshit, the more you'll lose your pity for him. I could write a whole book of reasons but it's better if you read the novel. It's sooo well-written!!! I felt bad for Eclise during his final ending tho, I pitied him, but Idk. Maybe you'll still love him but Hahaha
