I think she breaks the curse. Like without her they will kill who ever they love, aka that that's why they don't let women there and they avoid each other. He just doesn't want to tell her so as to not scare her and burden her with it.
Aka they won't now, just worried how she would react to the truth about the curse. Well, that's how j understood it at least hahahahah
