Some people are feeling weird about the new girl showing up and hugging Taehwan. So, for anyone who doesn't live in America, it's pretty normal to hug someone your close with, such as your family, friend, lover etc. Its like a polite and friendly way to greet someone. when you meet someone for the first time, a handshake or hand wave will do. Hugging when meeting someone for the first time can be uncomfortable or awakard for the other person.
With all that in mind, I would like to assume that since Taehwan is currently living in America, the new girl is most likely just a friend he is close with. They hugged out of friendliness. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with them hugging. I often hug friends im close with, regardless of gender.
