I think its metaforicaly, ,i think its ment to be interprited "i was adicted to poison" = I was in love and gave my all to a person that only wanted to do me harm aka was poison to me"

The same guy who asked her to drink poison before his corination as part of a plot to make her queen. But it turned out he had her drink poison so she couldnt talk aka Get in his way. After that he kicked her out and she finished killing herself with the remaining poison he had given her.
It states that in her past life she was addicted to poison in order for Rakan to become emperor. Why?? What possible benefit or advantage does Rakan gain out of her being addicted to poison?? Not being critical just super confused.
