So i found the ending for Oscar very fair.

He was stripped of his titles and had to live as a commoner. But because of his backgroung and character, I doubt he will have a very good life. But becuse he is well educated, he wont be that bad off either.

At the last moment he went against his sister and helped in court. But that was far too late and far to little he could actually do. So he didn't get the death penalty or a life in prison. He was allowed to keep his life, just that.
