If he comes, his father has a reason to come, I figure he figures that the least contact he has with her the less contact shitbag father has
True... But he could have secretly sent letters or something to let her know she's not alone. It probably would have made it more bearable for her and lessen the guilt she was made to feel. I do also pity the brother and am glad that his view of the situation wasn't tainted by their crap father
