In simple term...Yeonjin want to get revenge on his father for destroying his childhood and push his mother to death. The comon agreement between Yeonjin and his wife is that they need to destroy his father. Yeonjin and his wife don't want their son to follow the same path as yeonjin, they intended to divorce, the wife take full custody of the child ( so child not being able to be the heir) and Yeonjin dying so that he don't have to be force to produced another heir. Choi moonhyuk on the other hand, want to prevent Yeon jin from dying because he don't want to lose someone else like his chief before.
