I might be late on this
But I'll still leave my opinions
People tend to believe in superstitions that make sene but don't know the whole science or 'why' behind it or maybe they just want to ignore it/denie it
The superstitions like a woman is impure during her periods and shouldn't be allowed 'to go to temple' 'in a kichen' thing is that it is not impure it's just the energy of a woman during this time is very sensitive added the fact that during this time bacterias due to the secretion produse smell which is not pleasant and the overall well being is just ...not better
(Jut rest or try stay calm during this time, exertion won't help at all )
I won't justify hate or discrimination against women tho .....it's just these people don't know better or are tough to be like that....just straight up disgusting
And the fact ab being a Hindu bruh
It's too god damn diverse you will find people who worship godess during her periods (yes search them up they existed) in one hand to some thinking they are sinned during this times in the other

Hi girly, The thing is we're not impure and in no scripture it mentions that we're impure. It's just some ancestor passed the wrong message & it got misunderstood. When we mensturate we're the Goddess itself. Not going to temples myth is : when we mensturate we're Goddess so there is a downward pull in our energy & temples have upward pull. So if the energy collide it could harm our health nothing with impurity or Sin. Patriarchy loves to control women with whatever reasons they could find. They just twisted menstruation for their benefit.

Umm I dunno about energies or whatever but I do know I smell iron from menstrual fluid, and if someone doesn't want that smell to mix with cooking, it would be better not to go in the kitchen.
Good thing about being a woman is, you become a mother and then u can practice ur own belief in ur household. Like, in my house, we don't have that kitchen rule, but they don't let me go to temples. I am not a big fan of temples either way, so I'm fine. I belive in God, not the idols

To each their own. I also can smell my own blood, my mom broke so many rules of menstruation while raising me. She didn't prohibit me from entering kitchen or anything but I did hear others experiences. Even if I'm on my periods I will enter the kitchen, nothings gonna disrupt. But the energy part is real, do your own research regarding the myths, stories & superstitions regarding menstruation so that we stop this ridiculous cycle of prohibiting women doing whatever they want to do
i am from nepal. watching this manga made me have many mixed feelings with the way it's presented. Just to get you all informed, nowadays the KUMARIS are given the freedom to have education, play, etc. I have personally met the kumari of kathmandu in real life. Talking about Kumari to be not allowed to laugh seems to be true I guess, cause when I meet her, she was always expressesionless. the thing about curse after the mensuration seems to be believed in the past but nowadays even after the kumari is retired she is still respected. And it is false that the one who must be kumari must be from sita caste but I think it must be shakya caste in general. Still i am always so mad about the hindu religion in general for considering all the women during the period as impure. We are not even allowed to enter the kitchen and the temple areas as it is considered sin towards the god. I am tired of telling my parents that there nothing as sin cause we were made this way by the god himself, it's a natural phenomena but sadly non of the elders believe in me.
