she's desperate to stay alive ang get away or out of the game. and I think she thinks this is a game and it is basically a game because there's that obvious circular panel on top of people and if I were her I would be doing the same so I can get out of the game.
No I totally agree, it's not like I'm meaning to shame her or anything. I was just thinking about it from eclises point of view. We obviously see it from mcs pov so we don't think her actions are wrong but if we looked at it from his pov it would be different
The reason why I love this manga is because she’s not faking it she knows that survival is her goal she’s not trying to help people along the way she wants to ensure her own safety and she’s sticking to it
She’s not contradicting herself by seeing someone pitiful and going to help them out of the goodness of her heart and this makes her a very relatable character because most people put themselves as a priority which makes sense
I’m not saying what she did to eclis is right I’m just saying that anyone who doesn’t have their head filled with rainbows and unicorns like some generic heroines would do the same

you know it's not all the time that Penelope is faking her affection for eclis that's why eclis is also loving her and that's why eclis's love bar rate is now higher than before. and it's not like eclis is dumb just because he's young, he was actually a professional soldier and is very strong-willed. it's not like he's playing dumb or anything.
Well, I haven't said that he's dumb or that he can't see what she's doing. I said she's using his emotional immaturity (which he is because he's young and inexperience) to her advantage. She's manipulating someone who is emotionally and physically scarred from losing everything and being turned into a slave. No matter what reasons she has, doing this is beyond inhumane (in my opinion) but ofc I agree, in her situation it's about survival. Also no up until now all she's done lacks affection down to the core, everything shes done is to protect herself. She's not been there for him because she wanted to or actually felt something like affection towards him. Dunno how that will turn out later tho.
One last thing, his love bar rate is not high because he recognizes her affectionate way of treating him. It's high because she's treating him kindly (for her own benefit) and no one else has done so. He has lost everything and when a beautiful woman starts to take care of him and shows him kindness- he is bound to fall for her words and the mercy he has previously not received. And this is why I'm saying she's manipulating him.

Idk about anyone else but I love our mc she's really ideal and down to earth. However, not gonna lie, even though I know her reasons are to stay alive and all. The way she treats eclise is a bit... you know, inappropriate in some ways. Not physically but mentally, she's really taking advantage of an innocent kid. In reality eclise unlike all the other guys is actually just a kid. And he's gone through a shit ton of stuff in such a young age. Ofc it's not actually put into perspective but if it was, eclises story would be incredibly sad. Knowing this, she's been using his somewhat innocence to manipulate him into doing what she wants. Aka probably his fear of being abandoned and fear of being thrown away. Also, the sad part is, he's probably never loved seeing as he's really young and he's been a warrior before he was a slave. It's no wonder his gauge is going up too quickly.
All in all, she's taking advantage of his weakness and exhausted side. It's a manipulation tactic similar to approaching someone who had a recent break up because then that person would be more prone to affection, practically needing more attention. Its easier to make that person like u because you're showing them "that I'm there for you when you have it so hard rn" which often leads the other person into mistaking gratefulness from love.
Now this would've been okay if our mc actually wanted to save him and stuff, because then it would be fine for eclise to fall in love with someone who truly cared for him and saved him from the pure goodness of their heart. But sadly the reality is harsh and mc only saved him as a means of using him for herself.
Whether or not this is a bad or good thing idk, I just love both mc and eclise so much but I guess in a way I couldn't resist pointing out her manipulation against eclise, but this is because eclise is so young and it didn't feel right to take advantage of that.
