I think Carrot is being presented as "the naive/adorable/energetic/spoiled little sister", and it's fitting with the siblings/brotherly interactions of the straw hats. Even Luffy seems more mature than her, which is funny lol

7. this is the fisrt time oda draw luffy that close with a girl. that skinship. Oda only shows luffy like that with nami - boa or whoever for fanservice. i noticed it because of this. This is that rare.
