I KNOW RIGHT!? I think it’s just glossed over I watched the anime first and it’s the same as here, I thought it’d have more depth to it but nope... just feels like a tiny loose plot hole or something.

BUt he can accept her phone number and just tell her he isn't up for it. So she isn't embarassed in front of the poeple.
