Luca regressed too, that is why he was repulsive to his uncle. because he remembered that his uncle told him, that he doesn’t love him and he was only protecting him due to his responsibility.

I have a suspicion thaf Luca had regressed also, the fact that he kept saying he have 'seen' the snow thing on spring and he knows how to read checks out. That's why he's so creep out by the sudden change of attitude from his aunt and was not a sunshine child as he was on the novel. I feel like this Luca got himself back in the time of his childhood.
