technically he is. he realizes she is the necessary one though and that gave him the courage to kick at the Emperor a bit. even if the leader lacks credit doesn't mean he will. also, he will be seen by FMC and others as remorseful, despite being willing to do it again, and a victim as well, though again he was willing to sacrifice her.
What in the world are you talking about? Bennett acknowledged that Selena should have been the one sacrificed, but the dumbass Emperor insisted that it would be Ludis. Do you not see how sorry he is for having to do what he did? Are you joking right now? He didn’t have a choice, and he was not willing. He did not want to. But the emperor did not listen to Bennett when he said that Selena would be a better choice. Bennett is not self-centered. He’s obviously a very kind character.
