I love how well written and how realistic the characters here are. Each character have flaws, they're right and wrong in nature just how a human should be. They don't do everything right and their approach to problems is appropriate for their age- I'm not saying children can't be mature but there really are stuffs that kids their age arent accustomed to and they didn't know the right approach for that problem (this also applies to adults of course)
Example for Marie, She lived her life working like a slave and only realized her abuse after her aunt pointed it out. She believed that Minju might went through the same thing, she met the mother and knew that she is is genuinely kind so she was siding with her and helped- She sincerely thought that she's doing the right thing even though in reality what she did was entirely right. It's very realistic.
I love that the character's personality can't be categorized as good and bad.
