ok so long story short none of what happened to the fl was his fault, it was all her father's doing + it all happened while he was at war so there was little to nothing he could do. he never wanted to take the kid from her or bring in the ex.
People are excusing the ml’s actions just because the fl’s father threatened him not to get close to her and stuff but the ml is the one who willingly took away the fl’s child and even let his ex take care of him. The reason why he took her child away from his own mother is because she was mentally stable but that didnt mean she would harm her child, she clearly loved him and the only reason she didnt hold him is bc she was scared of hurting him yet the ml for some reason thought it was a good idea to take him from his mom, go to war for a few years and everything would be okay back home after he felt like going
And the father was punished by Elle in the end. When Elle turned 15 y.o he probably found out what happened to his mother and blamed his father for letting this happen to her, so just like his mother was locked up, he locked up his father in a dark room. Elle had something like a dark magic, not sure. It probably has something to do with his natural talent, but it turned out he developed it in a rather dark way.

And like I said in another post the fact that he thought she would be safe if he ignored her when he KNEW she was being ostracized by everyone for being cursed (which is why he spoke those words to her at their first meeting) then never once followed it up with the revelation that this might be why she didn't want to hold Elle, is exactly the reason why I can't see him as anything but a douchebag.
If it's too much then why do the people defending the ML say that when he did it, it 'wasn't too much'?
This! I know she’ll forgive him but i’ll never like him and i wish she didn’t forgive him either. He should’ve out the two pieces together and realized why she wasnt holding him, plus she begged him not to take elle away yet for some reason he thought that was the best choice and ruined her already horrible life by taking her own child

Exactly! The ML's basically saying that he has every reason to be intimidated by her father's threats but she has no reason to be intimidated by the abuse she endured from long before she met HIM, even. Hypocrite.

You can actually see it. It's chapter 21, it shows that the father also remembers that past and after he is locked up he can see our FL, probably some ilussion of how FL spent her days when she was locked up. You can find raws on toonkor.
