in the novel eugene and the others feelings for her are purely platonic. so i feel like the underlying romance put into the manhwa in the beginning definitely created misunderstandings
how can one not misunderstand Eugene´s face expressions? The manhwa overdid it with the suffering part!!
you cannot really compare original stories and interpretations of them. I barely ever saw any artist properly try and one for one recreate every detail the original story had. This artist seems to have had a lot of fun and see the story different than you, thus they draw it all in this way. They also seem to not yet have a real understanding and relationship of Daniel, thus we all feel awkward about him....it is not that hard to interpretative a story if you wish to do so...you just gotta look at the cues from a more objective and omniscient point of view....so it does not matter if you believe that in the original novel it was all platonic and Daniel was properly the real ML for a reason. Because in this artists version of that story it seems different....

it seems like Dan and how she feels for him for no apparent reason, is like super "convenient". Like as if the author wanted him to be the Male Lead from the beginning, started the story where they went so deep with the feels with the other three guys, especially Eugene and then suddenly remembered Dan´s role and purpose and inserted him like a photoshopped person next to Megan Fox or something....I hope we are going to be convinced properly about why it has to be Dan and not just us...I mean her, too....cause right now, it really seems to be like it is a forced development....
