I think Theo is trying his best to live up to the expectations they have for him (be a guard/servant for Chloe) so he can stay close to Chloe. He needs to give her respect since she is a princess. You could see he REALLY liked the name he received from Chloe but can’t act like he used to. He wants to but can’t ╥﹏╥
i feel like it was something he was taught? since he was taken into the castle to become choles guard or something? so now he is acting according to their status difference by treating the princess like a princess rather than a friend
