The counter only goes up when he kills humans not when he dies. The counter also considers him killing himself the same as killing a human. In the recent chapters, he was killed by the demon king over 100 times not by himself so the counter didn't increase.

my question is if he died and reset hundreds of times just now, his counter would go up, right? but if there are no casualties, then he would've had no one to kill. I wonder what the sword saint will do about that.
