Well actually they saw and promised each other at least after she was 16, so the promise wasn't just mentioned once when they were little kids - I don't hate the ml at all I mean I get he had to fight in the war, but looks like if she actually waited till he came back it'd have been 8 years later with not one letter or sign of him even being alive - which is a bit much to ask, still so far he hasn't done anything that'd warrant him being hsted tbh I'm more confusion why some comments seem to blame the fl for not jumping into his arms when he appeared from the parade??

i'm commenting again to ask why people don't like the white haired ml??? like i don't understand the hate towards him because it's not like he chose to be away from her for so many years. he literally had to be bc of the war...
also they were literal kids when they made the promise to wait for each other and idk but it's pretty common for kids to make huge unrealistic romantic promises that never come true. i don't even know the amount of times i've told people who i love that i'd be by their side until we die only for us to drift apart because life happens. life literally happened to both of them--neither one of them are assholes or deserving of hate
