Im gonna agree with ChuYang. It's just funny how y'all have something against the duke when the man in the previous life was definitely THREATENED by his own father-in-law if he cared for them. So basically it was the FL's father who's at fault cause the Duke literally cared for his wife and son. (This is based on novel)

His father in law killed people close to him and threatened him with not only removing his status but by killing his wife and Child. The ml was going to give their son back to his wife when her mental state got better. The baby got taken away cause the FL’s mental state was starting to deteriorate and she could barely take care of herself much less their child, but, the ML was forced to go to war for six years, and while he was gone the father brought in his ex to raise the ML’s child without him knowing so when he got back home he was pissed to see his son thinking that women was his mom, but he couldn’t separate them cause he wasn’t close to anyone else not even him, and by the time he got home his wife was starting to die. He was actually the one who turned back time because he truly did love his wife but because of her father he wasn’t able to express it without people dying.
She was suffering from a mental illness, her mental state was deteriorating due to her fathers abuse and it got worse as the years passed by and she was ignored and her baby was away, and spoiler

He was trying to protect her and the baby when he saw how bad her mental state was, and was going to give Elle back when she was better, but he was forced to go to war due to the FL’s father and when he came back six years passed, he found out that the FL’s father brought in the ML’s ex fiancée without his permission and that his son was already thinking she was his mom so he could not separate them. Plus his wife was dying. So the bad one isn’t either of them, it’s her father

I'm so tired of FL s easily giving in to their killers, though he didn't literally killed her, the fact that he's been an asshole from her previous life and now he's trying to approached the FL lol. The situation is totally fucked. The Plot and story flow is also cringe and fast but Elle is making the story worth while for me. That's all.
