Shared custody doesn't exist in Japan. So when they get divorced one of the parents (the father in most case) lose all right to their children if they don't have the custody. Obviously, i think some parents are smart enought to let their children see the 'losing' side of the law BUT if they don't want to, the father can't see their own children.
Wow. That is one horrible law. It's like saying you're losing one parent cause they can't work it out. Your relationship with your ex shouldn't affect your relationship with your child. That's fucked up :( Thanks for the info though!
