Things kind of get better between them but then the mil gives her medicine to induce pregnancy symptoms. She is genuinely happy and tells him and he asks who she cheated with. Apparently it wasn't possible for him to father a child. It's found out the pregnancy was fake and he thinks she lied to him. He refuses to listen again and she tries to run away. (They later find out the mil did it.) He catches her and brings her back and tells her she can never leave. This time, she is so tired of it all that she decides to show him how they switch bodies. She shoots herself in the head in front of him because she just wants to get away from all of it and the switch happens. He wakes up as her and tries to deny what happened and she basically tells him why the switch happened the previous times. They switch back during this. He is devastated and lets her leave this time. He tries to chase after her but faints I guess.
She goes on to live a very humble in a village but the people are kind and she is very happy there. He suffers a lot when she leaves him. He tries to take his own life after a few months and wakes up as her. They switch back, he goes to her and she asks why they switched this time, he makes an excuse. He says that he'll divorce her if she wants but to give him a few months. He wants to leave everything he owns/earns to her and die afterwards. He wants to spend some time together for the courts and they talk during that time period about their feelings and finally work on their relationship after this whole debacle and find out that they both loved each other. A lot of other things happen as well but this is the gist of things between where the story is now to when and how she leaves him and how they get back together. I'll just mention that everyone else will eventually get what is coming to them and they'll be cut off financially. They might not get as good of a punishment as the readers want but they'll get exposed and will have their cash cow taken.
