First I dont think Keiichi needs to redeem himself since it was Shingo who broke with him (cruelly if you ask me) and had some cuestionable behaviour as well on this volume (more than Keiichis). Second Keichii has already proved his love since he made a weding ring for Shingo which leds to the closure that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Shingo.

Though I feel everything has already been said on this from both sides, I'll try to explain how I see it. They are BOTH at fault. In the earlier vols. I often felt Shingo's indecisiveness and attitudes about relationships (though understandable) to be the greater fault in the relationship dynamics. Even though Keiichi has never been perfect, as he's overly- possesive and dominant, gets jealous over nothing, but he had a kinder and gentler side, and could also speak of love (which is why so many know that Keiichi really loves Shingo, he said so earlier), which helped balance it out. Besides in some ways Shingo needed that possesiveness to lay his fears of abandonment to rest. But that was in the earlier vols.
This vol has Shingo settling in to the relationship and then Keiichi doing everything he can to make Shingo insecure, including suddenly announcing that he is leaving him (remember he has abandonment issues) for over 6 months in 2 days, and oh yeah he's been thinking about it for 2 weeks. As to a ring, if you order a present for a good friend only to find out the next day that they slept with your someone, you do what you can to cancel the order. If it still get delivered, what should your friend believe, that what actually was said between you breaking off all relations was real, or the gift that you aren't personally giving represents how you now feel? And why is there only 1 ring? Wedding rings come in pairs.
If Keiichi at the reunion had acted as he used to in the earlier vols., showing some of that more gentler loving side, then yes he would have at least reminded a lot ppl of why so many like him despite his faults.
So we get more sex...
But what I wanted and really needed was something from Keiichi other than statements about how Shingo belonged to him, i.e. ownership. Some emotional reciprocity. Not being able to admit your feelings or show vulnerability to one you love and supposedly trust, is just weak.
Has the the chance for Keiichi to redeem himself gone? Has he metaphorically missed the boat?
