the mc was naive so i think she told her brother at one point. i thought they would remember in the 8th life too but i guess not, all for the better i guess
When he went her Hilse’s room to scold her for ‘attacking’ Gabrielle he had a flashback of her falling out the window, this could mean one of 2 things
1: one of her deaths for when she told her father she would either be saved due to her newfound powers or die (because he didn’t believe it) and she mentions in dialogue that he lets her die in one of her lives because of that situation
2: when she fell out the window just a few days prior and he’s just remembering it
i like your first theory! it makes so much more sense when you put it that way.
Does the brother also remember the past lives? Cuz he mentioned that fl can just die again 7 more times and at the start of the 8th life, fl mocked him by not protecting her this time instead. Or did the 7th life, she mentioned it to him how she just returns? It hasnt been mentioned properly i think
