I don't understand what that "great" spirit is thinking. Like what the heck? You will get angry if you will not stay neutral (pertains to the duke), but is okay to destroy humanity (pertains to Corset)?? Like heck??? Whaatt???

the father ( Duke Parvis ) we can't say he's an evil dad or good dad.
It's hard to describe it, as the head of the Parvis family he has to uphold "neutrality".
He won't interfere with her children's affairs, but on the other hand, he couldn't give her children love/ affection as a father either.
And in the ending, cosset destroys half of humanity and the sprits are angry.

Neutrality means not interfering or taking sides. So as a parvis, the father really could not do anything. He can't side with either good or bad.
Besides, when Cosette appeared, the people rejected Keira. They died because of the devil, not the father. This was meant to happen the moment they started discriminating against Keira. They always feared her anyway and misunderstood her simply because she was a cold person who doesn't show her emotions and sometimes when she looks at others it feels like she glared at them. The high society was all about being in the good graces of the spirit user. Cosette resembles her dad so everyone prefers to believe she's the real one and since she is friendly they approach her to get benefits and also sides with her. They got what was coming for them.
When he returned the time, it was not because he was sorry, but for the sake of "Parvis" (spirit user) which is important for the empire, even though there was a little "sadness".
So if Zeke and Keira stay in that family and become successors, they will turn to be like their fathers, they should be "neutral" because they're Parvis. So it's no wonder they choose to go.
So why people mad when Keiran forgives her father? She was just unlucky that her father is a Parvis.

Maybe If Keira becomes the head family, she will treat her children the same because of that "neutrality".
So that's, why I think there's no ML Kiera doesn't want her kids to face the same pain she did.
At the end its a shitty story. Where the FL is stuck in hell. Her dad couldn't do anything since he has t be neutral at all times otherwise the great spirit will get angry.
