Did he get his body back though, or just his appearance? Because we saw Heil holding our poor baby River's actual body after he was killed.
I assumed Shuyin's choice to reincarnate means he was giving up his body and leaving behind his power to River. He can't very well reincarnate as a human with powers. I think River took on his original appearance perhaps because that's how he wants to appear and the power that is now completely his compensated and changed Shuyin's body.
I hope River is still a deity because him being human again would be kind of complicated. Besides him being at the mercy of what's her face again right when they were about to start some kind of war/fight with her to save humanity.
It's also been 15-20 years since he died. They kind of gloss over it but there's the 5 years that no one knew he was actually River as Shuyin and then another 10, I think, when he was having his Honeymoon World Tour with Heil to show how time doesn't matter to an immortal.
After everything he's been through he should get to stay with Heil forever as the Ultimate Deity Power Couple.
Since River has his body back, does that mean he's human again? Technically, Shuyin was still the god even when River was occupying him. River himself wasn't actually a god
