It wasn’t unexpected. Hades said four days before they were going to visit that they were to fml. But I do think that the father contacted them through the bird to test whether she stopped taking the medications or not.
Nah, 'cause the church would've gone with another method to deal with FL if they knew. I think it is because of seeing ML and FL together that the father suspected that ML may have became aware of FL inability to hide her core and thus the medication since it seemed they were being intimate with one another imo. So the father contacted the church.

I'm really suspicious of fml father.
I have a theory that he may have grown suspicous that the female lead isn't taking any medicine. So he could have contacted the temple. That explains priests visit.
