I agree I kinda like when the ML remembers and realizes he suuuuuuuuucks. Like the Emperor reverses time. ML realizes he treated the empress like poo and regretted it so much he went back in time with the intention to divorce her so she can be happy.
I never liked these time reversal stories where the ml who was an asshole in the previous life now suddenly is all nice and good. It makes it seem like the FL is responsible for the guy being cruel in the first place, just because she didn't have the personality or authority to get his attention.
