It's a nice twist 'cause in this one it actually greatly benefits their futures and they aren't treated as complete objects. They are fed well, have nice beds to sleep in and are even able to study and provide for their families back home. Yeah, there's a lot of smut but in the long run the "slaves" make out with a whole shit ton of benefits when their work is done and they are let go. They are also there of their own volition and not herded up like cattle against their will bein' sold into servitude.
But you can't deny the truth: Slaves back then were only objects, not even considered human unless they were freed. It's the truth and we shouldn't forget it: we can make it pretty, but it doesn't deny the truth either way.

I was sayin' that as a trope used a lot in NSFW works it's a breath of fresh air to get somethin' a bit more on the more wholesome side. It's a nice twist on the /trope/-- not on actual slavery.
So, I like this so far, I really do; there is just something about traditional harems and slave owners that gives me the heebie jeebies for some reason.
