Well that’s your family member. Dating someone with a mental health condition is a different beast, because romantic love is more so a choice (I.e. you can’t choose your family.) so, if he does have a condition, he needs to go get help lol idk why authors always seem to downplay the stress of mental health conditions on the social life, so It would be lovely to see a story where it’s handled appropriately and not as a cute plot device
(I hope what ima bout to say doesn’t sound rude so sorry if it does but lemme educate u on this and tell u what u wrote wrong) Separation anxiety is something that can happen in certain relationships BASED off the trauma the person experienced and in this story he experienced separation trauma from a past RELATIONSHIP my sister experienced trauma in a FAMILY relationship that can cause ptsd and they will have departure anxiety from what ever relationship they have with that person based off the status and half the time it can apply to everyone but in here he has it with relationships and no this isn’t used to be cute or whatever it’s actually representing ptsd and doing it well because this is exactly how people with it react and what your doing is mixing it with obsession once again as a person who has to deal with a family member who has it I can get annoyed but it’s something I don’t really mind and u saying for them to get help if they do show the condition is so ignorant I hope u know it’s not that easy especially to notice the signs tbh I just thought my sister was clingy until I saw her anxiety breakdown that’s when we wanted to get help but based off our fam status my parents refuse to let us get her diagnosed because people would look down on them. Please understand the hospital isn’t always a way to heal someone but to help suppress an issue and that some people need to first notice the signs themeselves and hun being aware of the fact he is “clingy” isn’t just automatically gonna make him think he has SA so y do u think he isn’t going to the hospital, it’s not the way the author wrote it that’s wrong it’s the way ur perceiving it and trying to solve it let alone the fact you don’t really know much about SA or mental health in general (based of what u said)

1. I have generalized anxiety disorder, comorbid with borderline personality disorder so. Yes. Lol I have a great deal of experience with mental health conditions 2. When you realize your behaviors are abnormal, toxic, damaging, etc to a party outside of yourself you should most certainly seek help. It’s one thing if he wasn’t cognizant, as author made sure that he is self aware, but because he does have awareness of his potential detriment to a person, he should seek help. 3. There’s nothing wrong with saying that people who have mental health conditions should seek help because the issue is that many of us simply think It will resolve over time or downplay It (as his friend at the bar said: dude work out your insecurities). Intervention on a more serious level is not a bad thing that your stigmatizing It to be 4. Because you have a pleasant or comfortable relationship with your family member does not mean authors or media portrayals should depict these situations as just easily overcome lol Asper Girl is a great story that handles mental/social conditions well 5. I don’t really know why you went on this tangent based on what I said because really none of your reply addressed my original point of “It would be nice to see characters seek help or take their conditions more seriously”
Ah, and to my other point of “family vs romantic partner.” My point is that dating with a mental health or social condition is exhausting. So it’s important that we (people with them) are at a manageable state where we can communicate and relate our issues to our loved ones. It just wouldn’t be fair to the other party if I was constantly unstable and It wouldn’t be fair to me if my partner blamed or hated me for something I can’t control lol all I ask is that authors take time to flesh out the real work It takes to live/date with a mental health disorder if they’re going to introduce It to the story. Otherwise, it’s better if they just leave It as petty jealousy or something that’s actually minor versus an actual disorder
Once again I said I think he has SA for one for two it’s not confirmed and it’s a high chance it might never be confirmed based off the annoying troupes so basically what I’m saying is to wait u don’t know how the author will even approach the disorder tbh so even if that is confirmed then u can come back and complain about how it was handled but as of right now once again this all started because I said “I THINK” like u said it could be a minor thing but I just said SA because the (lovely) people in the comments keep saying obsession and making it cute cause he’s starting to be aware of it none of this is saying he has it and has to take care of it also sorry if this sounds like I’m not answering whatever u want me to but that’s honestly because I don’t know how I honestly agree with what ur saying but just like mine urs is also a what if type of situation :)
You’re right, if it’s not obsession and is supposed to tread on the line of an actual condition, It would be nice if they fleshed It out lol that’s all I was saying. Especially since he seems traumatized by his family
Honestly don’t feel like going back and forth on our POVs since I have nothing against what ur saying what so ever but this is the last thing I’m gonna say For ur original point I totally agree but we got to wait for the story to finish as see what he’ll personally do if he does anything at all tbh since he’s mainly in denial that it’s not that serious which is a common thing when it comes to mental health (also Asper girl is good with that topic I love the mangaka also but tbh once again I said this is a what If type of situation yes if the author approaches the disorder topic then I agree with what ur saying)

I think he has separation/departure anxiety based off what happened in the past it’s reasonable for that to be the case because my older sister has it and she can never leave me tf alone lmao she also follows me into the bathroom and she just asks if she can stay here and just talk and sometimes I tell her stay outside and she says she feels like I’m not gonna be there anymore if she can’t see me. Usually “obsession” is mistaken as separation anxiety except one is used in a negative way with a negative meaning and one is built off traumatic experiences and I take a guess as to what cause my sisters too.
