It's not about being an adult. You have to remember that things were different during the time of royalty. Everything and everyone you associated with had a major effect on your standing and power. Without power, he wouldn't even have been able to protect himself.
Besides, he's admitting he was wrong and that he should have made different decisions. That's what he's DOING.

Oh, definitely. He needs to treasure her for the rest of his life. And since it doesn't seem to follow either the "she's different, now I love her" nor the "why isn't she paying attention to me?" tropes because of his awareness of how much he is at fault, I'm really liking it.
im pretty sure by now we all know that the fls dad is the villain but here's the thing I don't understand, why hate the ml so much? Think about, you're being threatened by your father-in-law - the old man says he's going kill BOTH the kid and reina, so obviously you're going to listen to him to not let that happen. He's been FORCED to be kept away from his own family and at war while the bumass fl's father manipulated everything behind his back at home
so, im not saying the ml made the best choices but you all need to calm down and think about what you would do in that situation, you just gained some sort of power for a condition you didn't want to even follow and then being taken to war while constantly thinking your wife and kid may die any second by your evil father-in-law
