this is it. honestly with helena’s character it reminds me of people hating psyche (at first) and jennette. are y’all really ignoring men are actually the real problem here
News flash, Jeanette will always be unlikable(in the same way Helena is unlikable. Their character as that weak, innocent, naive MC who is loved by everyone and could do no wrong and needs to be saved by someone else and can barely carry their weight and does no character growth and needs another character to exist to make them likable) but Psyche has completely proven that she could change, just compare her character development to the other 2. It's like a whole different level.
damn i dont like helena but some of these comments are going pretty far with their hate for her
tbh i think the things past eris did kind of justify her behavior with how her past was with accepting death from her mother
tbh i just think theres alot of hate for her character bc shes not the main character
but also i understand why people hate her bc the ml and other side characters are immediately attracted to her and instead of stopping this, she encourages it in a way because it allows her a position of power (from my analysis, you could argue that if the prince ordered her to go to the tea party then she could not refuse because of her status, but on the other hand, you could argue that shes scheming yet portrayed naive girl that did not want to refuse this invitation because it was an advantage to get her out of her circumstances)
either way, past eris is a bitch and yall cant deny the fact the way she treated helena was straight up abusive/ bullying, but at the same time helenas character is kind of annoying with how persistent she constantly goes through lengths to bother eris despite knowing that she took away her fiance and still expects approval from her (or so it appears that she keeps bothering the mc for attention)
hearing helenas backstory allows us to see more into the character and honestly i feel like if she was the main character she wouldnt be getting all this hate
