I guess since it's a political marriage between the 2 kingdoms, whoever is chosen as the ML's fiancée will be adopted by the king. She's gonna be a representative of their country. Or something like that.
The King talk affectionately to her as if he treated her as a daughter to get his part of the cake from the foreign King ??
