He didn’t have neither of his biological parents because of others; the queen because half-elves are seen as less of and his father because to him; his father “died” protecting others. It gave him more of a reason to continue doing what he is, before it was to insure a better future, to greed, all the way now because he wants to IMO follow in his fathers foot steps( more of to do and overachieve more than his biological father)
He didn’t forget, but his (adoptive)parents are dead and he’s already gotten his siblings to a better place so that they can be protected and a better home life; he doesn’t need to worry much now that he’s gotten more on his mind
