That is the 2nd rejection tho. The holy sword never accepted him in the first place which idk why but later it was forced to accept him
The holy sword always rejected him but due to his mother abuse and insistence, the holy sword was forced to accept him (remember the flashbacks). Now as a result of the ruins, he has gone back to square one of rejection.
