Read it to the end. Every action has an explanation and every explanation comes with a valid reason. No spoiler, but the princes past immaturity opened him up to things but if you get the whole story you will understand that he was not truly trash, just childish and easily used.

Honestly i like one of the second male leads better.But she hates the prince, gets over it and decides that she can love him again in the end so im ok with it. He honestly not the best for her but he changes the most and chases her/works the hardest. I think his effort and character development is why hes the main lead. Plus when someone you love who you thought changed for worse, becomes the person you loved again, i honestly felt it was inevitable, and i totally get it. (Not super happy about it but its realistic)
dont its garbage she just ends up her her abuser and rapist
