While I won't disagree with your generalization as such, but Keiichi did seem to be able to emote much more in the earlier vols. Also quite a few mangas, while representing that sort of stereotype, somehow also manage to be able to have the characters make some sort declaration of their feelings at important moments.

Well, I Asians as well, but I don't think what you say is the case, if we put the Asian here, then I will find this kind character or story not just in this manga, in my opinion is simply just like what @Amberwaves said. Keiichi need the 'openness', 'honesty', that this doesn't look like the owner and pet. Not I blame Keiichi, this one too is simply I miss the old Keiichi.

you're welcome ^^ it's very typical for Japanese men ( my cousin married a japanese ) . Girls don't feel it that much though, but when you're in a long term relationship, it's not as sweet as the beginning.

well, believe or not, it's very typical for japanese men. mangas are different but maybe the author wanted something more realistic this time??? Especially for a long term relationship ( like Keiichi and Shingo ) , the way of loving will be not as sweet as it was in the beginning. but it doesn't mean he doesnt love him anymore, he just shows it in different ways.

maybe, there will be a new story for Kuroneko which Keiichi will show his love more openly for Shingo there.

They have made up and Keiichi dosn't show anything exept 'Shingo was his Shingo was his' that make him like the owner not his lover, there's no feeling and make Shingo looks pitiable.

To be honest I can't see the realistic term here because what we talk are about love and how they treat someone they love, if only one person who said everything about their feeling, and the other keep shut their mouth with ambiguous act is not that just make the one who more honest hurt in uneasiness. But yeah, let's hope there will be a story where Keiichi be more honest.

Idk- Sadly I also feel that what Keiichi is showing is the same as what he is saying, i.e. ownership. He only got 1 ring. From other mangas I read, in every case wedding rings, even with gay couples, came in matching pairs. So why did Keiichi only get 1? If they were to be a sign that they mutually belonged to one another there should have been 2. As it is, with only 1, it signifies that Shingo belongs to him, while the same can't equally be said in return.

Further there's a difference between what you show on a daily basis, and what you show at a crucial moment in a relationship. To not respond on any emotional level when someone is pouring their heart out (in tears), is cold. I know many people who aren't very verbally demonstrative, but that wouldn't make them completely unable to respond in such a situation and communicate their basic feelings. Even if it is just a simple 'I love you too'.

I believe there will be another story which will show more about Keiichi and what he has thought. In this part, the story is more like about Shingo's aspect, so it didn't show much Keiichi's feeling and thoughts.

In my point of view, Keiichi and Shingo they love each other but they had to face the communication problem during time of living together. And they failed to fix that. If you read the previous sequels , you also can see that Keiichi can't stand the thoughts that Shingo couldn't trust him. I believe when he told Shingo this time you abandoned me, his heart also broke apart.

If Keiichi didn't love Shingo, he wouldn't go so far just to handle the ring and asked his nephew to say Shingo " I love you " cuz he coudn't say it anymore.
Lastly, his attempt to keep the poker face failed as soon as he saw Shingo's tears that means loving and caring, you know...

well, saying " i love you too " is not as simple as it may sound.
One of the reason why he couldn't say "I love you" to Shingo anymore because he realised Shingo had no trust in him. It's no use saying I love you too in that case.

Knowing Keiichi, he's super possessive, his way of loving is twisted, it's not usually. I agree by giving only 1 ring is like a cat collar, but seeing all Keiichi did , he definitely love Shingo more than just an owner.

That's what I said from the begining, I miss the old Keiichi, that's how Keiichi used to be, but what now?
Ok, let's say it the way Keiichi facing the current situation or that the way Keiichi taking step to handle Shingo, but the matter now is that they've been going together again which means it's time for them to clarify everything, and not only from one side because it's not a proper action for those who claim to love each other and want to improve their relationship, therefore they can trust each other again.

Nah, the ring is one of the reason why it's look like the owner say 'this cat is mine' he must say something else that describe his true feeling even if it not with word 'I love you too' but the word with same meaning, at the end he don't say anything with that meaning except his words that just look like he claim Shingo, just claim.

Many possibilities for that meaning that why so many people who read this manga wanted a clearer explanation of Keiichi's true feeling. You can see from the reviews.

And what else should I read? If I've read them all. Those previous sequel you mention it and the other, that why I had come to this opinion.

First, I'm pretty sure if you go by the behavior of both parties there's lack of trust from both sides. I'm specifically referring to the reunion, when Shingo is making his feelings very clear, and has clearly gotten over his trust issues. Just odd not to be even say that he loves him in return, when he was able to do so in earlier vols. despite Shingo's trust issues.

So my problem is that the gentler, loving Keiichi who left us in no doubt that he 'definitely loves' Shingo in earlier vols., despite his possesive and dominating behavior, just seems gone. All we're left with is the possesiveness and dominance.

I don't mean anything but you guys seems take it too hard on Keiichi. He loves Shingo, I don't know why you guys tried way too hard to resist that.

If you want something in particular, then on chapter 13 , Keiichi says while caring Shingo " i adore you so much, Shingo ( he use daisuki here ) and next he tells " I love you " ( yes the legendary Aishiteru ), Japanese hardly ever use Ashiteru, it means to use in very special case.
after that he also asked for Shingo that from now on don't think anything on his own , just let Keiichi know what he thinks ...

If that's not love, then I don't even know what can be called love to you ???

Ch. 13? So far this vol. only goes to ch. 12 with a couple of extras (old chs. from previous vols.). Do you have raws of the next upcoming and access to more info than the rest of us? If so, lucky you. I unfortunately can't read Japanese (except for a few Kanji having studied Chinese hist.), so must rely on translations.

I've heard Keiichi says that from my friend. Nah that what I mean, I've been waiting for that, but I also have said several times, from the begining, the case "When they are made up" Keiichi's act just make it hurt to seen. Is it like that the way you treat someone who love you crying and plead in front of you while expressing all his feeling and you just need to bring that person to have sex and then all the problem resolved? Well I reliaved Keiichi slightly express his feeling at ch 13, and I hope in the next chapter there is will any side story from Keiichi's point view.

I don't know if I or everyone who have the same though just like mine wich I know is not only me alone and @Amberwaves that make this hard or is it you who take it too lingtly of the importance of clear communication between lovers. Well I also don't mean anything but I think it was you who make this harder since you mention about Asian men and realistic relationship since the begining.

It doesn't sound as much as affectionate like it does in Japanese though. XD I like it more in Japanese XD I can't explain, it's just my feeling.

I think you got the point here, It's not all asian men. Just men in my place are too half-assed. You're so lucky, men in your place are not like that.

For Japanese men, indeed, they don't show their love or affection by words much, they prefer delivering their love by action, and women think it's cool XD not for all people though, just in general.
