I agree to a degree, my theory is the fl helped him go back. They did say the fl was a saintess so I have a feeling instead of falling in love with her like the novel originally stated he was still in love with viche and the saintess realises this, knows they'll never fall in love and helps him go back in time.
This is just a theory idk for sure but I just have a feeling the fl bein a saintess has something to do with him goin back this time around.

I think what happened is he did become a tyran thanks to the love he had for her.
When the female lead showed up he tried to be happy but it didn't work so with her help he went back in time to save her so he never becomes unhappy
