I agree. To be honest after reading the last chapter i felt underwhelmed like watching Game of thrones ending
I may have to say a good chunk of koreans/chinese fans hated the ending. some japanese fans were blocked from replying to kodansha and the editors, because of genuine questions from the ending.
there is a reason why Isayama himself did not like the ending and he said it did not align to the themes of his work.
you can put this work together with GoT and The Last Of Us. I’m just going to say that kodansha wanted to appease the shippers, but that is not what Aot is all about... everything is retconned
I am laughing at the new leaks and damn Isayama just rekt EM fans. if its true then, at least i was right about paradis being doomed forever

My experience!!!
I love snk, I really do and it's an amazing show but the last chapter 139 just wasn't for me. I get why Isayama did it like that but I personally didn't vibe with it. I wanted smth mind-blowing but we got a 'happy-ending': (for most characters) and smth so basic that it kinda makes me question my life and why shrimps can see triple the amount of colours than us. Like dude that's so rude of nature, anyway... I discussed the last chapter with all my friends who adore snk and we all came to the conclusion that for us personally the last chapter is 138. ( ಠ ʖ ಠ)
I just see the last chapter as a fricking bird meme and I don't feel any emotion when rereading the last chapter. Everyone who tried to kill each other are now vibing and it feels so weird.
Glad Erwin died to not witness this fricking mess of a joke that chapter 139 radiates!

What I wanted for the ending: when mikasa cut ereh's head, not ymir the founder would stand there at the back but small ereh. Small child ereh seeing all this and then him waking up at the tree that we see at chapter 1. I wanted a time loop, smth like this, and a bit of an open ending haha.

Most Japanese viewers liked the real ending and I get why but I had, like many, very high expectations and wanted smth that would blow me of ma seat.

Your hard work paid off and you completed something wonderful, a masterpiece of a story if I may say, but there is one thing I would like to say. The last chapter sucked big bonkers and it felt like you gave up writing. I saw the interview, yes I saw it with my own two eyes when you completed chapter139 while scratching your behind. You filthy rat! About your onsen/spa! You better get ready because I won't be the only one filling those pools with sweat and tears!
