Y'all, BL means boys love and it can apply to shounen Ai as well as Yaoi. Yaoi is the correct term for any BL work that has smut, sexual scenes, etc. While BL is a broader term to specificy the different genres within that term.

Think of it like this:
BL - industry.
Yaoi - sector of the BL industry for adults.
Shounen ai - sector of the BL industry for teens.
Smut - sector of the BL industry for adults.

And so on... let's not fight over this :)
