Technically it's not a lie yet. They never really talked or got to know each other before, so all he ever really had to go on was his looks.
Hehe, true. I suppose crushes are always initally based on looks, but I think he's trying to downplay how much he actually likes him. But then I am very much a rose-tinted glasses kinda creature, so I'll just stay here in my romantic bubble. :P
