i was talking about the brother, not the mc. in one of the flashbacks, the grandfather told that he was not the real xu xin nian, but someone reincarnated(?) and replaced him. i do think that that plot point is stupid, like why not just retain the brother from being an ambitious character that uses any means to achieve his goal, rather than having this reincarnation, not the real xu xin nian bs.
