i think typically there would be some degree of what you're saying, but i think in this case, because he's a child being adopted into the family of lesser nobility i don't think it'll be that big of an issue.
it would be different if he were an adult and/or getting his own noble status versus being adopted into the family of another. also the fact that the knight's family he's adopted into would be considered lesser nobility makes Theo's case less stirring to the other nobles.
this is of course my opinion and who knows what'll happen later, but this is my take on it anyway.

Hmm I guess tho I think they would just forget the fact that he was adopted and not make a reason out of it. My point is just that they're somehow overlooking the commoners and how would they react but ye who knows what would happen. Tho I guess it's normal to adopt commoners but I'm still disappointed in a way but yes I agree with you, for now that is.
It kinda upsets me how they recklessly made that decision of making Theo a noble, I agree on giving him the recognition he deserves but other than that, wouldn't people bully Theo? Bc of the fact that he was adopted and the nobles could start a riot just bc he was a "special case" tho I'm sure nobody else could fight our mc's brother, but it still could hurt the reputation of the imperial family especially for the commoners since like they would ask why he was able to be a noble at ease and why couldn't they do the same. And a hatred could form between them and they wouldn't support the imperial family just bc of that decision. They could've done other things to make Theo her friend "legally", they're gaslighting the fact on how hard it is to make a commoner, a noble. Tho I'm sure, it's just a part of the plot.
