My "safe" was not only referred to the practice itself but just from a disease prevention point of view. Given that the word is a sort of umbrella term it is worth specifying I think. Particularly if there is a couple who wants to try it.

Lol, well given that there is always a minimal risk associated with oral sex the answer is condoms or PrEP besides the usual aspects of common hygiene and avoiding promiscuity (same sexual partner). Given the rough nature of the practice and the eventual microlesions assiociated with it, it is still a bet though. Hence the questionable "safe". :P
It is about as risky as having any sort of intercourse, if you're too rough with vaginal penetration you can cause harm and disease, same with anal penetration, as with any sex act you gotta be relaxed, take your time, not feel pressured, and mostly if you don't want to you shouldn't have to!
It is slightly different. The vagina is elastic and uses this property to accomodate the penis. The throat not as much given that its mainly function is to swallow. In the first case both the man and the woman lubricate their own sexual organs. On the second case you should know already in the mouth there is only saliva which can hardly act as a lubricant (forget if you have seen somebody spitting on you know what it just doesn't work like that :P ).
Saliva, but also when you deepthroat there is mucus, but granted it only gets produced to any extent once the oesophagus is agitated. That's why deep throating can get messy in more than one way XD But my the point still stands, with any practice, taking care and being cautious is always a must!
