I really can't stand Yohan...

But why does a bully victim has to turn into pretentious tyrannical villain?

I rather deal with Carmilla (Castlevania) than Yohan that narcissist

I didn't like that the author has to make the villain/antagonist a former helpless bully victim.

There is also the possibility that Yohan get the same sympathetic treatment as Kylo Ren...

I actually like what the author did because it just says that because your weak or a victim before doesn't automatically make you a good person.
It also says that because you were hurt by others in the past doesn't mean if you got the chance you would be any different from them.
What this guy wants is just power, he wants to be able to control everything and be the strongest so no one would ever be able to look down on him and he doesn't care what he has to do to get there.
Yohan also doesn't want to be betrayed by those around him so he kills them off, just like what he said to Baal that he saved his life but Baal wants to kill him now. Our victim yohan killed the one that saved his own life, he is not a good person and there is no reason you can give to make what he is currently doing ok.
    Sorry for the rant.

But personally I am tired of seeing this trope of the victim turning into the ultimate villain.

It's kinda realistic though, some victims turn evil due to trauma. Well Yohan deserves a slow painful ride to hell

But many victims don't. I am also a bully victim and I spent years to recover from my traumas. Of course, I have still murderous rage but only towards all kinds of bullies.

It is refreshing for me to see the character Issac in Castlevania Netflix.
Once a tortured dark skinned slave, then a devoted follower of Dracula due to their shared hatred towards humanity and finally a ruling happy king who wants to move forward and build sth more peaceful sustainanable.

I felt kinda sad for Carmilla's death. (I was actually more sad about Lenore's suicide)
I really understood/sympathize with her and her motives.
But she became too unreasonable and mad. I guess she forgot her limits and got too stucked in the past.
At least she died as a hardass queen on her own term.

How come I like and relate more to Carmilla than the shitbag Yohan even though I am male, was bullied, neglected and never raped...?
