He already had the jade thingy he could have very well taken it and went about his day but he did attempt to help them for the sake of purple haired girl. it’s a reoccurring thing he’s always out to get something and ends up getting sidetracked just like in the story with the red aired girl and the blond girls who has a brother tho there is that contract thingy he didn’t have to help them as much as he did but he did it whether voluntarily or involuntarily he still did.
