The ml couldn't do anything in that situation people he cared for and also innocent people were going to be killed he had no choice but try and help in little deed or behind the scene.
Nah, in my opinion, his actions were justified. He had other people to protect and they were dying. Also, his father-in-law said he'll kill his wife if he tried to do anything against their deal. So, it's not like he had a choice either. Though, I do believe he could've tried to do something, but he was already trapped by their schemes before he could do anything. It also seems like he had been abused himself.
