Same. It really feels like the author started this series with a different plot in mind (Rogi being a dad and getting a second love with Hachi) but got so invested in the flashback that they changed their mind.
I want her to change it back lol
Reading spoilers make me think that it is possible for author to ignore both stories are connected (=・ω・=)
