The doc looks much different compared to his youth. Notice Dr. Hans’s muted reaction when he sees Hyuk’s yearbook, and his aversion to answering Hyuk’s questions about his HS or college experiences. It’s only when Hyuk sees Dr. Hans’ yearbook later on that he recognized the younger Dr. Han as his tutor.
It’s sort of implied that the doc does recognize him after seeing Hyuk’s yearbook. Def give that chap a re-read!
