As you can see he's known her from her past life and he's not just appeared out of nowhere, he's been working hard to gain power and overthrow the current evil emperor. And he's keeping his distance bcz he's scared the emperor might hurt her thinking she's close with him. It seems they did have a history together in last life and maybe, some feelings which didn't last because of the problems then. As for who's the main lead, I know who he is and it's very obvious but I'm gonna give you the benifit of doubt enjoy reading ^^

Ik who the male lead is but the fact they put so much love interest in the story and they will get rejected because of past feelings is what's sad but I'm still believing in that small hope

Tbh I get very annoyed with Hal, he’s 19 and flirts with a 12 year old. Even though she thinks he’s joking he’s serious. If I were in her position I would just think of it as super bothersome. I don’t rly ship them bc it seems like Lippe has no interest in him whatsoever. she merely sees him as a brother and someone loyal to her family. And I wouldn’t say Rias appeared out of no where, as they knew eachother in their past lives. It would seem as if she randomly fell inlove with him, however from the flash backs I’ve seen, they were pretty close before. HOWEVERRRR I respect your opinion about shipping her w Hal. It is quite understandable as we’ve seen they kinda grew up together.

Yeah I’m with you on this, except I seriously love Hal, though I do find it disturbing that the author seems to think that a 19 year old would look at a 12 year old that way (and that’s since she was much younger).

I was thorn about Rias before he appeared because she and Hal would’ve been a good couple once their age difference stopped being so disturbing, but once Rias did appear, I instantly understood why he was the male lead and I’m rooting for him 100%.

However I lowkey want to see how Hal’s own love story would develop. I also ship Hildert (blonde purple eye kid) with Hal’s tomboy sister. If this had yaoi in it though, I’d probably ship him with the twin brother who had to take his sister’s place instead.
